I heard the best father-of-the-bride speech delivered last Sunday. A speech full of humor and emotions. Not forgetting the Star Wars opening line too! He mentioned that he initially was not enthusiastic about kids but when the bride was born, it completely changed him. The love and passion in which he delivered that line inspired me because in a few months time I will experience that.

I’m looking forward to fatherhood…bracing myself for the sleepless nights, frustrations, stress, but yet looking forward to moments like those mentioned in the speech. The speech left another indelible mark on me. It reminded me of why I love what I do. A wedding is a major milestones in one’s life and I always count it as a privilege to attend one. As a guest or as a photographer.

In 2011, I took on various commercial assignments but I always go back to the love of shooting weddings. It’s physically tiring indeed but the reward is always reaped when I go through the images, process them, and receive appreciative comments from the couple.

Finally managed to find some time to upload more recent wedding shoot. This was taken a few months ago just before I left for the US for a shoot and break. The church wedding was at Barker Road and dinner at The Fullerton Hotel. Been awhile since I’ve shot at Fullerton but I’ve always loved the grand staircase leading into the ballroom….adding a touch of grandeur.

SU YIN + VANCE

Here’s an update to the wedding section. Shot Su Yin and Vance’s wedding last Saturday and these images were shown during their dinner at The Sentosa Resort and Spa. A Little Dream were there to entertain the guests with Hsin Yeow on vocals. Great atmosphere, great ceremony and a great couple too!

ALLEN AND CELIA WEDDING IMAGES

It wasn’t too long when we had blast of a time in Penang for Allen and Celia’s pre-wedding shoot and a few weeks ago…they were happily married! They met at the altar of the Church of the Holy Cross and proceeded to Ritz Carlton for lunch. The guests were entertained by the witty speeches by the maid-of-honour and the best man and wonderful, touching and heartfelt speeches by both Allen and Celia. I love the ambience at the Ritz Carlton in the daytime, spacious and flooded with windowlight.

The day started off at Celia’s. Damon was shooting with me and we loved the light and the unhurried manner in which the day started. In fact that was the pace throughout the entire day and we enjoyed every moment of it! Here are a few selected images from the day.

WEDDING OF LIAM AND DAWN

It has been a quiet April. It usually is every year. Towards the end of the month, I had a great time shooting Liam and Dawn’s wedding. It was a simple and intimate wedding at The Four Seasons Hotel. Everyone looked great and the closeness of both sides of the family was very refreshing. Dawn looked stunning in her kua and I think it’s great she did something different by not wearing the bridal dress. So it was the kua for the first march-in and then an evening gown for the second.

Poh Huat and Siew Len’s Wedding

A simple, beautiful wedding in charming and idyllic Penang. The dinner was held at the very posh and delightful Rasa Sayang Resort, a highly acclaimed hotel, with a gorgeous garden and vintage old, lush trees facing the beach. We had some time during the day to explore the grounds and get some good pictures.

A very memorable part of the wedding dinner was the part when Poh Huat and Siew Len formed a train by pulling friends and relatives along, as they went table to table to greet guests. It was impromptu and they didn’t have any alcohol in them! In all my years of shooting, this has to be the first for me.
